Getting Filipinos to accept the coming changes in the Philippine's first nationwide automated elections was a challenge and we saw that communicating with various key stakeholders would be key in gaining acceptance and support for this historic project.
Climate change adaptation and the imperative of implementing RA 9003 are essential, but encumbered by the following:
Recommended solutions are expensive
Budgetary constraints
Lack of knowhow / expertise
Lack of support from the National Government
What we are proposing is a technology transfer scheme that will allow the Municipality to address the pressing problems of MSW at the least cost possible.
Using rapid composting inoculants that we will provide, all bio-degradable waste shall be converted into bio-fertilizers.
This can immediately address landfill problems since bio-degradable waste constitutes more than 50 percent of all urban waste. While at the same time, address the need for an essential and burgeoning demand for organic fertilizer -- a key farm input for the Department of Agriculture's thrust in organic crops production.
Agricultural Inoculants Corporation (AIC), formerly Agro-Forestry Crop SystemsInc., is an agricultural company committed to sustainable agriculture.
Our role is to ensure, that we provide in a socially responsible way, bio-fertilizer manufacturing technology using rapid composting inoculants that are easy touse, profitable and environment friendly. This technology when passed on tofarmers, cooperatives, LGUs and the private sector, would result to on-farmefficiency, reduce farm fertilization costs and reduce carbon emission by recycling farm and market waste into bio-fertilizers .
AIC’s rapid composting powder has 21 beneficial microbes and enzymes with nitrogen fixing bacteria and nematode controlling fungi. Formulations developed by AIC in the manufacturing of organic fertilizers usingdifferent farm and market waste have resulted in consistent quality of organicfertilizer wherever produced.
Manufacturing organic fertilizers using AIC’s rapid composting inoculants willproduce fertilizers at below ½ the average price of organic fertilizer available inthe market.
The advent of the 21st century poses new challenges and opportunities in business. These Opportunities, however, are challenged by unorthodox events and environmentsthat can easily disrupt traditional business models which requires a new kind of thinkingand approach.
Global climate change, oil price shocks, local and international terrorism are the primaryissues facing the world today. Poverty is a driver of increased terrorism in manycountries and with the present economic climates being disrupted by oil price shocksthe probability for terrorism to grow even further is enhanced.
The delivery of basic human services has not been met by the government of manycountries, thereby creating the rise of instability; our programs will address areas ofspecific concern in each community that addresses specific services and self reliantactivities.
Our plan is to tackle all these issues on a community level, where it all begins. creatingan economic model that is based on Community Development (including the political, security, and sociological spheres) and which utilizes renewable technologies will be afirst in the region. Thus, the operative term for the project is Resilience Thru Renewables.
Will Pagcor City’s new casinos enable Pagcor to reach its objectives?
In the long-term, yes. The Las Vegas model of IRs is, far-sightedly, the more sustainable one and the onethat Macau and the proposed new developments are all following- build high quality hotels, resorts, entertainment and conference facilities as well as improving the mix of retailing, tourist attractions andcatering facilities and any shortfall in gambling revenues will be made up by additional business from theMICE sector, tourism and families.
There are revenues to be gained from customers and gambling taxes. In addition, there will beinvestments and operators bring in with them the positive effects for the cities that host the casinos, and the wider area through more socio-civic projects. Ultimately, it is marketing’s job to make sure that the casinos are filled by its target market.
To move forward, it seems clear that Golden Rice must be agronomically viable at a minimum. To be acceptable to consumers and accomplish its nutritional goals will require that countriesmake some strategic decisions about implementation, adoption, and promotion. Such decisionsinclude desirable beta-carotene levels, target populations, desirable agronomic characteristics, and methods for distribution and promotion. These choices would be best informed if the healthand agricultural policy-makers can agree on the need for and potential benefits from thistechnology and if NGOs who work with the poor embrace it. As this approach to biofortificationis relatively challenging, future investments in research need to increasingly be driven by policydialogue
